WHAT IS THE PEACH FESTIVAL?

Annually, the Gilbert Community Club hosts the Lexington County Peach Festival. It is recognized as one of the most successful and prestigious events of its kind in the southeastern United States. Summer after summer in the 50's, 60's, and 70's, the community was alive with the harvesting, packing, and shipping of peaches. While we find only a few peach farms still in operation, the peach remains (in our minds) the Queen of all Fruits and worthy of honor in our small town. 

Today, the Lexington County Peach Festival is held every year on July 4th (or July 3rd if the 4th is on a Sunday) in Gilbert, SC at the Gilbert Community Park. Festivities kick off every year with the parade at 9:30 am and stretch into the night until 9:30pm when we bring the day to a close with a dazzling display of fireworks. We hope you plan to spend July 4th with us as you enjoy live entertainment, the peachy and patriotic parade, over 100 Art & Craft Exhibits, antique car show, children’s rides, and many food items specializing in “Peachy” delights!  A student Peach Art Contest held in May and the Peach Pageants scheduled for June are also held in conjunction with the Peach Festival.

INDEPEDENTLY FUNDED

The festival serves as the main fundraising activity for the Gilbert Community Club, a non-profit 501(c)3 organization operated exclusively to promote the welfare of our community and make the greater Gilbert community a better place in which to live.

The festival does not use public funding to host our beloved event. We rely heavily on our Sponsors, Advertisers, and festival income to fund our club’s activities. Proceeds from the festival are used to maintain and improve the clubʼs 6-acre Gilbert Community Park, provide financial scholarships to local students for academic and athletic achievements, and support many other community civic organizations.
