Plans are finalizing for the 57th Lexington County Peach Festival on July 4th.   A full day of fun will be offered, celebrating America’s birthday with a variety of peach desserts and peach drinks.   Arts and crafts, children’s rides, and great foods will be available for varying fees in the Gilbert Community Park on Rikard Circle. A parade, three stages of entertainment, an antique tractor and farm equipment display, a car show, a volleyball tournament, and a fireworks show will be available without charge.  Local radio personality, Rob Sanders, will be reading the Declaration of Independence at noon.   The parade begins at 9:30 a.m., and the fireworks show begins at 10:00 p.m.   Entertainment ends at 11 p.m.

2015 Peach Queens will be crowned June 27.  All pageants will be held in the Gilbert Primary School cafetorium.   Pageants include Baby Division at 10 a.m., Junior Division at 2 p.m., and the Miss Lexington County Peach Queen pageant at 7 p.m.

The Festival’s Presenting Peach sponsor is Lexington Medical Center, and the Platinum Peach sponsors are Michelin, Comporium, and US Foods.
